Nick Cannon is once again expanding his family after he announced he’s expecting his ninth child. According to PEOPLE, the father-to-be took to Instagram on Wednesday to make the announcement.

The 41-year-old rapper and actor is expecting the baby with Brittany Bell. He already shares two children with the model. The Wild N’ Out host made the announcement on the social media platform with video snippets of him and Bell at a maternity photoshoot. He also added videos of them having a photo shoot with their two children.

“Time Stopped and This Happened… @missbbell [emojis] #Sunshine #SonRISE,” the post’s caption read.

As reported by Face2Face Africa, Cannon has in the past explained that he was having the kids “on purpose.” The 41-year-old made those comments while he was hosting a show on Power 106 last July.

Cannon shares 11-year-old twins with singer and ex-wife Mariah Carey. He also has a son with model Brittany Bell. In December last year, Cannon and Bell welcomed their second child – a girl. He then welcomed another set of twins with Abby De La Rosa on June 14 before Alyssa Scott gave birth to his seventh child, Zen, on June 23, Billboard reported. Zen, however, passed away in December 2021 after battling cancer. He was just five months old.

The expectant father also welcomed his eighth child with Bre Tiesi on June 28, 2022.

In a May interview with PEOPLE, Cannon spoke about the joy of fatherhood. “Every day I just wake up excited as a father,” he said.  “I’m so excited about all my kids. Constantly, from every aspect of it. From them getting citizen of the month awards in the first grade to the birth of the new ones.”
