Singer Ray J was hospitalized in a Las Vegas hospital on Tuesday with a severe case of pneumonia and heart pains, TMZ reported.
The 44-year-old singer, who was still receiving treatment in the hospital at the time of this report, underwent X-rays and an echocardiogram. The results of those tests could not be established at the time of this report.
The One Wish singer’s recent health scare came after he similarly suffered a severe case of pneumonia four years ago. That was during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

His diagnosis in 2021 was, however, not COVID-related. But the 44-year-old feared he was not going to make it at the time.
Ray J’s condition at the time resulted in him being put on oxygen. He also had to use an inhaler for a while, but he ultimately pulled through and later started breathing normally.
Ray J’s health scare came after he announced in Tampa, Florida, that he was embarking on a nationwide hitchhike. It could not be told how he ended up in Vegas, and if his hitchhiking mission was linked to his hospitalization.
In October 2025, Face2Face Africa reported that Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, had filed a defamation lawsuit against him after he claimed that authorities had launched a federal criminal racketeering investigation against the plaintiffs.

Per TMZ, Kardashian, 45, and Jenner, 70, claimed that Ray J’s comments added up to a campaign he had waged against them over the last ten years. The lawsuit alleged that Ray J was “unable to accept the end of his fleeting relationship with Ms. Kardashian over 20 years ago.”
Kardashian and Ray J dated several years ago, and the former couple made headlines after their sex tape was leaked in 2007. Kardashian and Jenner, in their lawsuit, claimed that the Another Day in Paradise singer had targeted them on multiple occasions for his personal benefit.
The lawsuit also highlighted TMZ‘s Tubi doc, United States vs. Sean Combs, in which Ray J claimed that he “might believe it” if he were told that the “Kardashians was being charged for racketeering.”
The plaintiffs claimed that Ray J’s statement “was designed to plant the seed.” They also made mention of comments he made about them during a September 2025 live stream with Chrisean Rock, alleging that Ray J lied about the Kardashians being subject to a federal investigation.
“The feds is coming, there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s worse than Diddy,” the 44-year-old claimed.
Kardashian and Jenner further stated that they were not the only celebrities Ray J had lied about, as he previously claimed to have had an intimate relationship with rapper Sexyy Red, TMZ reported.
Sexyy Redd later sent Ray J a private message, and she shared a screenshot of the singer’s response. “You know I playin I’m always trolling and you know I love you … sorry if you mad at me,” Ray J partly told her. The 44-year-old later apologized to Sexyy Red on camera.
Ray J also responded to the lawsuit, saying that he “will not be silenced.”
