Cori Broadus, daughter of Snoop Dogg, and her fiancé, Wayne “Duece” Polk, held a heartbreaking homegoing service for their baby girl, Codi, who passed away less than a year after her birth.
The couple’s infant daughter was honored in a memorial service over the weekend, attended by family and friends. On February 8, Broadus shared touching moments from the funeral on her Instagram page.
These included images of the church reception, loved ones wearing coordinated “Codi’s Crew” attire, and the baby’s casket adorned with flowers and a teddy bear.

Broadus captioned her Instagram carousel, “Part of me went with you. My girl for life.”
Broadus gave a deeply emotional eulogy, expressing profound sorrow over her daughter’s untimely death and the future they were denied. She grieved for all the milestones she would miss, including her daughter’s first steps, her first day of school, and being present for all her future triumphs and sorrows.
Broadus, with Polk by her side, said, “I don’t understand why this happened.”
“I’m trusting God, but that doesn’t mean it makes sense to me. Some days I wonder if this world was just too cruel for someone as pure as you,” she continued. “Other days, I wonder how I’m supposed to live in a world without you in my arms.”
Broadus first shared the heartbreaking news of her baby daughter’s death on her Instagram Stories on January 31. She posted a black-and-white picture of herself smiling while holding her baby, writing, “Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” and adding an angel wing emoji to announce the tragic loss.
Polk also shared a series of photos on his own Instagram Stories.
He wrote over an image of himself holding his daughter, “I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you,” .
“My baby,” he added.

Broadus, 26, and Polk welcomed their daughter, Codi, prematurely last February after Broadus’s 25-week pregnancy, according to the LA Times.
At the time, the new mother shared the emotional struggles of her pregnancy journey, admitting she had been “blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed.” Broadus expressed gratitude to God for the support and for making her daughter’s birth a reality.
In December, Broadus shared details about her infant daughter’s health struggles, describing her in a heartfelt poem as a “miracle wrapped in tubes and tape,” whose “lungs [were] trying to catch up to the life inside her.”
The Choc Factory Co. makeup executive expressed guilt over the possibility that her daughter might also have lupus, an autoimmune condition Broadus was diagnosed with as a child. Despite the challenges, Broadus conveyed hope in her poem that her daughter would eventually leave the NICU and go on to live a healthy life.
