Getting braids has always been one of the ways black women grow their hair and protect its length. From cornrows and bigger twists to micro braids, there’s a braided style for every occasion. Maintaining them well means you wouldn’t have to worry about hair styling for several weeks.

Braiding is nothing new, but day in, day out, new hairstylists emerge, particularly on social media, with woven styles in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Seasoned braiders have even had to take inspiration from these new talents and are now taking braids to another level.
