Richard Collings III, an African American university student who was also a lieutenant in the US army was stabbed to death as he and his friends waited for an Uber on the University of Maryland’s campus. Sean Christopher Urbanski, 22, of Severna Park, was accused of killing Richard in the predawn hours of May 20 at the bus stop of the school. He was charged with first- and second-degree murder and later indicted on a hate crime charge. Urbanski was a member of a Facebook group called “Alt-Reich,” which pours out hatred toward minorities and especially African-Americans, police said at the time.
