Jose Chameleone, Uganda
Jose Chameleone was born in April 1979 in Kampala, Uganda. His birth name is Joseph Mayanja and he is one of the most beloved Afrobeat artists in East Africa. He sings in several different languages, including Luganda, English, and Swahili. Chameleone began his music career in 1996 as a DJ at the Missouri Nightclub in Kampala. He then joined the Kenyan production music production team, Ogopa Deejays, where he released his first single “Bageya.” Some of his most popular singles include “Mama Mia,” “Njo Karibu,” “Mambo Bado,” and “Kipepeo.”
