Superstar athletes Angel Reese, Simone Biles, and Sha’Carri Richardson are now members of the 2025 Met Gala host committee. Per TMZ, the organizers of the event released the list on Tuesday, with NBA superstar and Future Hall of Famer LeBron James serving as the honorary chair.

Reese, who is set to start her sophomore WNBA season with the Chicago Sky in May, reacted to her selection as a host committee member in a post on Instagram. “Private jet to the Met from practice again year 2?!” the 22-year-old posted with a loudly crying face emoji.

Olympic legend Simone Biles will have her husband Jonathan Owens by her side as the Chicago Bears safety is also a member of the host committee. Fellow member Sha’Carri Richardson will be gracing this year’s Met Gala following her previous appearance in 2021.

The co-chairs for this year’s event include Anna Wintour, actor Colman Domingo, F1 star Lewis Hamilton, rapper A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams, the veteran musician and Men’s Creative Director for Louis Vuitton.

The other big names on the host committee include André 3000, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Dapper Dan, Doechii, Edward Enniful, Janelle Monáe, Usher, Tyla, as well as, Spike Lee and his wife Tonya Lewis Lee.

This year’s dress code is “Tailored for You,” which The Met says is a recognition of the exhibition’s focus on menswear and is “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation,” Vogue reported. This is also the organization’s first Costume Institute exhibition centered around menswear since “Men in Skirts” in 2003. This year’s exhibition also drew inspiration from Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the 2009 book by guest curator Monica L. Miller.

“Dandyism can seem frivolous, but it often poses a challenge to or a transcendence of social and cultural hierarchies,” Miller said in the statement. “It asks questions about identity, representation, and mobility in relation to race, class, gender, sexuality, and power. This exhibition explores dandyism as both a pronouncement and a provocation.”

“What makes it possible to translate Monica’s book Slaves to Fashion into an exhibition is our collection of high-style menswear, which serves as a foundation for imagining and realizing a sartorial history of Black dandyism,” Costume Institute curator in charge Andrew Bolton also explained.

The 2025 Met Gala will be held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 5.
