The singer and rapper of the bestselling female trio TLC was killed in a car crash in Honduras while on vacation in April 2002. The talented lyricist provided the hip-hop edge to TLC’s major hits including “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.” Lopes, popularly called “Left Eye” is best known for wearing glasses with a wrapped condom placed over her left eye to promote safe sex in the 1990s. She was 31 when she passed away.
