Poem: Not Obsessed

by Victhur Ihuka, 10:31am March 31, 2015,
elderly couple

I  want to know
Not only your joy
But your pain
And sadness.
Your darkest fears
And your heart rending tears

elderly couple

I want to be there
When we both grow
Old and gray
Follow you to the moon
And cuddle you some Chance nights
Listening to the voiceless rhythm
Of the quiet around us

I want to experience
All your different ways
All your different days
And if someday I happened
To pass you on the street
And you did not look my way

I would accept that
It would be enough
To have known
And loved you
Having etched our faces
On to each other’s heart’s pages forever

Let’s lock fingers and Never let go.
Someday, my dear, the World will hear from you
until then, stay true
Somehow, some way
We’ll ALWAYS find our way back
To what we share- A place
Where an unusual love abound.
