It was all joy when Senegalese singer and songwriter Akon showed up in Ethiopia to take part in a monthly series of African Union Talks in Addis Ababa.
The global music icon arrived at the Bole International Airport in the capital Addis Ababa along with his wife Rosina Bruck to a rousing welcome.
On March 1, 2018, the musician addressed the African Union on the issue of youth migration.

His presentation at the AU Leadership Academy was on the theme: “African Youth and Challenges in Migration”.
Akon, real name Aliaume Damala Badara Akon Thiam, is the co-founder of the Akon Lighting Africa project which aims to provide electricity to rural communities in Africa through solar power.
Currently in Ethiopia, the musician would also join the country to celebrate the famous Battle of Adwa which happened 122 years ago.
