‘That is so insane to me’- Cardi B blasts male rappers for not standing up for Breonna Taylor

Cardi B is serving hot looks on the September issue of Elle while lambasting male rappers for not using their platform to stand up for Breonna Taylor in the cover story interview. Cardi B never minces words and the “WAP” rapper went hard on the murder of Taylor, the 26-year-old EMT who was killed while sleeping by three Louisville police officers in the name of executing a no knock-search warrant in her apartment in March.

Reacting to the incident months later, Cardi B said it is appalling that the officers have not been called to justice, neither have they issued an apology to Taylor’s family or publicly shown remorse for shooting her.

“That is so insane to me, [I saw] Breonna Taylor’s name everywhere, but I didn’t really know her story. What they did to her is really f–ked up. Really f–ked up. What’s the excuse? Why is the cop not in jail? Wasn’t what he did a crime?

“It’s a crime! And no apology. No apology. No video of the cop coming out crying, ‘I f–ked up. I don’t this. I don’t that.’ Nothing. It’s nothing. I don’t even know how her mom still holds her head up. Unbelievable.”

The rapper also empathized with Taylor’s mother Tamika Palmer, adding that Taylor’s death reminded her of her cousin who had been murdered.

Taylor’s name has been trending since March and Cardi B wondered why many of her male counterparts in the rap game are not speaking out and supporting the cause to seek justice for the Black first responder as they should.

“A woman like Breonna Taylor, she was young,” she told Elle. “She looked like she was listening to your music. She looked like she was your fan. You should stick up for her.”

Trust Cardi B to use her platform to speak on social issues. According to Elle Magazine, “she is a wise cracker, concerned mother and a New Age political servant” and did not hesitate to show her displeasure on Donald Trump’s presidency and why she does not support him, Billboard reported.

“Those people that he caters [to], he’s not going to do anything for them,” she said. “It’s not like Republicans are getting better housing. It’s not like Republicans are getting better benefits. They’re not. He’s not doing anything for anybody.

“He’s just saying things that appease the same people. I want a president who makes me feel secure. I want a president who understands the pain of the people. I want a president who is going to give us answers.”

Her sophomore album was also mentioned in the interview and she teased fans in true Cardi style with what they should expect.

“My music is always going to make a woman feel like a bad b–ch,” the rapper said. “When you make a woman feel like she’s the baddest b–ch in the room, to me, that’s female empowerment. But this album is going to be really different.

This album has big shoes to fill as her Grammy-winning 2018 debut LP Invasion of Privacy still resonates so well with her fans.

She continued saying, “of course, it’s going to have my Lemonade moments, my personal relationship moments…I didn’t really like how my last song performed, so I just got my creativity back. I don’t want to just put out a single and have people buy it because I’m Cardi. I want to put out really good music.”
