Kanye West’s July 4 declaration via a Tweet to run for president surprised many. But his latest outburst at a Charleston, South Carolina rally has been a source of pain for his wife, mother-in-law and others.

Launching his campaign for the 2020 US presidential election, Kanye West broke down in tears noting his father had wanted to abort him but his mother saved his life.

He raised eyebrows when he revealed he considered having one of his own children aborted, saying: “I almost killed my daughter.”

On the back of his latest emotional breakdown, Ulysses Blakeley, the man who dated Kanye’s mother after divorcing Kanye’s father said West’s recurring episodes are triggered by “unresolved grief” over the death of the rapper’s mother.

Donda West passed away following complications from plastic surgery procedures in 2007. She was also Kanye’s manager.

In 2015, the artist told Q Magazine he still felt some responsibility for his mother’s death, saying, “If I had never moved to L.A. she’d be alive… I don’t want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears.”

Donda “underwent liposuction, a tummy tuck, and a breast reduction, the day before she died.” And Blakeley, 69 noted “It seems to be a sort of profound, unresolved grief. He feels some isolation.”

Blakeley who came into Kanye’s life at eight till he left home at 18 to pursue his music making dream is worried about the 21-time Grammy winner.

There were further outbursts on Twitter from Kanye on Tuesday when he said Kim Kardashian was “out of line” to meet Meek Mill to talk about “prison reform”, blasting his mother-in-law Kris Jenner as “Kris Jong-Un” who is denied access to the children.

West also revealed he has been “trying to get divorced” from his wife since she met with Meek Mill at a hotel.

The reality star responded to her husband’s claims. Sharing three pages to her Instagram story Wednesday morning, Kim said: “Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor.”

She told her 180 million followers: “I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions. He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder.”

The 39-year-old mom added “those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions.”

West had also claimed on Tuesday that his wife and mother-in-law had “tried to fly in with two doctors” to have him hospitalized.

“Kris and Kim put out a statement without my approval… that’s not what a wife should do,” Kanye said after reports that the Kardashians were infuriated by his latest antics.

Unconfirmed reports have it that the two are already living apart before his latest tweets.
