The many times Issa Rae has wowed us with her natural hair

Insecure’s Issa Rae is the girl of the moment as her series has been picked for a fifth season by HBO. Since its first season aired in 2016, Rae has been rocking her natural hair on the show. There is no dispute that on the first season, Rae had a teeny-weeny afro but that did not stop her from flaunting her natural tresses.

The versatility of natural hair made her look fresh and alive in every single episode to date. Felicia Leatherwood is the stylist behind these looks and her celebrity clientele include Ava DuVernay, Simone Missick, Teyonah Parris and Jill Scott.

Seeing natural hair on red carpets, mainstream television, and even now when most of our beloved celebrities have reverted to their natural hair during quarantine, is the kind of positivity that natural hair deserves and more.

No matter the stage you are at with your natural journey, these Issa Rae looks from Insecure are here to remind you to flaunt it.
