Top Boy star Adwoa Aboah and her boyfriend, Daniel Wheatley, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Shy Trinity Afua Wheatley.

The couple, who have been together since 2021, announced the news on Instagram Wednesday, with Aboah sharing photos from her emergency cesarean section.

The 31-year-old British actress and her 33-year-old skateboarder boyfriend, known for keeping their relationship private, shared their joy with followers.

Wheatley, also a U.S.-based videographer and editor for Thrasher Magazine and The Perfect Magazine, joined Aboah in celebrating the birth of their daughter.

Aboah, who publicly announced her pregnancy at this year’s Met Gala, made a bold statement by showcasing her baby bump in a striking red ensemble from H&M.

Rather than opting for a high-fashion designer gown, she wore a capelet made of tulle-ruffled silk organza over a rhinestone-embroidered bralette, paired with a voluminous red silk taffeta skirt.

The outfit marked a special moment in her life, aligning with the personal and instinctive approach she takes to fashion. “My Met Gala looks are always very instinctive,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I love leaning into the theme, but I always want to feel completely like myself.”

Reflecting on her pregnancy, Aboah shared how she looked to fellow pregnant celebrities, including Rihanna and Sienna Miller, for inspiration on dressing her changing body for high-profile events. “I wanted to feel like my best self, and it’s hard when you have literally no control over your body and the way that it’s moving and growing,” she said.

The actress has also been candid about her struggles with substance abuse. Aboah has previously shared that she first experimented with marijuana at age 14 and later moved on to harder drugs, including cocaine and ketamine.

Her battle with addiction led her to seek treatment, an experience she credits with helping her turn her life around. “I’m actually quite lucky,” she said on the Reign With Josh Smith podcast for World Mental Health Day. “It kicks it out of you when you are forced to really confront yourself.”

Now sober, Aboah is committed to helping others facing mental health challenges and addiction. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to rebuild her life, and said, “I’m pretty lucky to have been given this chance to do things differently and look at situations more empathetically.”

With her new daughter in her life, Aboah is now focused on her family and will likely share more updates with her fans on social media.
