American rapper Rod Wave has revealed that Drake’s life revolves around making an impact through music, and the Canadian music icon will not be retiring any time soon.
Drake’s legacy has been a major talking point in 2024, especially after his ongoing rap feud with Kendrick Lamar.
Some fans believe Drake has struggled to release hits with the same frequency as he did over the past 15 years, and many of them feel it might be time for the Grammy winner to drawn the curtain on his illustrious career, as per a HotNewHipHop report

However, Rod Wave insists the iconic rapper isn’t going anywhere and will continue to deliver even better music and performances for many years to come.
In a conversation on the NFR Podcast, Rod Wave touched on Drake’s career ahead of his new album release.
While he talked about nearly featuring on a Drake song, Wave insisted that the rumors have no real weight, and revealed that the Grammy winner is not retiring anytime soon.
Rod Wave made it clear that music is Drake’s life, and the rapper has no intention of walking away.

He even compared Drake to former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and emphasized Drake’s passion as one that is geared towards making an impact. “He just loves doing this sh*t.
He loves the game. Like Brady… he’s at home like, ‘What the f*ck am I finna do without this sh*t?'” Wave said. Like many legendary rappers, Drake has hinted at retirement in the past.
In his 2016 song “Weston Road Flows,” Drake announced plans to retire at 35, a milestone he has since passed without walking away.
Drake also touched on the subject again in 2023 during an appearance on Lil Yachty’s ‘A Moody Conversation’. “I guess that’s the one thing I want for myself really badly,” Drake told Lil Yachty. “I’m not ready now, but to gracefully continue making projects that are extremely interesting and hopefully cherished by people.”
Since then, Drake’s actions have definitely backed up Rod Wave’s words about his future. He has continued releasing new songs while teasing collaboration albums with artists like PARTYNEXTDOOR and Conductor Williams.
Despite their close dynamic, Drake and Rod Wave have still not released a major collaboration.
Rod Wave was originally slated to appear on Drake’s 2021 track “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” but admitted he got cold feet. “I’m a diehard Drake fan. I just got cold feet,” he said.
Drake was also rumored to feature on Rod Wave’s upcoming album, but the track has since been altered, and the final version won’t include Drake.
