Art Evans, the veteran film and television actor fondly remembered for starring in Die Hard 2 and Fright Night, passed away on Saturday, December 21, at the age of 82.

Publicist Erica Huntzinger confirmed Evans’ demise to Variety. And though the actor’s cause of death was not revealed, his obituary said he “passed away peacefully” in the midst of his family.

“We are heartbroken to share that Art has passed away. Please respect our privacy at this time. A memorial will be held for friends and family to attend at a later date. Thank you,” Evans’ wife, Babe Evans, said in a statement.

Evans’ career in film and television spanned over four decades. Besides Die Hard 2 and Fright Night, the deceased 82-year-old actor starred in other movies including A Soldier’s Story, Tales from the Hood, School Daze, National Lampoon’s Class Reunion, Bitter Harvest, and Metro

He also starred in television series including Hill Street Blues, The X-Files, Family Matters, and M*A*S*H. But Evans is fondly remembered for starring in Die Hard 2. He played an air traffic control tower employee who assisted John McClane (Bruce Willis) in defeating terrorists.

Evans is survived by his wife and son.
