American rap icon Snoop Dogg performed at the Crypto Ball in Washington, D.C., on Friday night, one of the events celebrating Donald Trump’s inauguration.
However, it appeared the crowd looked far from receptive as he performed a list of songs.
Snoop took to the stage and delivered a set that included his hit single “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” urging the crowd to sing along and get loud.
He made efforts to energize the room, yet many at the event looked far from involved and offered a response that seemed lukewarm compared to the lively receptions Snoop has received at packed arenas and clubs.
Videos of Snoop’s performance quickly went viral and sparked backlash on social media from many of his fans who seemed ‘disappointed’ in his actions.

“I never thought I’d have Snoop Dogg being a Trump supporter on my bingo card… But here we are. What a disappointment,” a third added.
The performance and its reception have fueled debates about the rapper’s political affiliations, and some allege that he has always been aligned with Trump’s efforts.
Snoop Dogg and his representatives have not commented on the criticism or his reasons for performing at the event.
For his fans, however, it is one they did not see coming but will have to live with though they seem displeased with his actions.
