Bob Marley’s granddaughter Donisha Prendergast had no idea that not waving back at a stranger would cause so much trouble.
Prendergast and her two friends checked out of an Airbnb in Rialto, California and were leaving their accommodations when they were suddenly surrounded by seven police vehicles, and a helicopter.
Marie Rodriguez, a neighbor who claimed to have witnessed the incident said, “She walked over smiled at them and waved and they basically look at her like she was a martian” referring to the white woman who called the cops On Prendergast and her friend.
Rodriguez continued, “If the kids had simply smiled at [my neighbor] and waved back and acknowledged her and said, ‘We’re just Airbnb guests checking out,’ none of this would have ever happened,” “But instead, they were rude, unkind, not polite.”
So, not responding to a greeting should warrant an arrest?
