The Kikuyu people of Kenya believe that the ultimate crime is murder. The spirit of the deceased, called Ngoma lingers and chases their murderer.
The Shona people of Zimbabwe call Ngoma, Ngozi and they believe that a killer entices the spirit after committing their deed. The only way to appease the spirit is to sacrifice cattle.
