Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson took to social media to shut down rumors that she’s pregnant.
Per PEOPLE, the rumors of the 36-year-old being pregnant swirled after she shared a post on New Year’s Eve. Brunson shared a mirror selfie on her Instagram stories, showing her joining in on the fun on New Year’s Eve.
In the photo, Brunson is seen wearing a cream sweater as well as a festive headband that she has put on a beanie. Fans, however, speculated she was pregnant because of the way she had positioned herself, as she appeared to have a bump around her tummy area.
Brunson, however, shut down the rumors in a follow-up post. “Not preggers,” she wrote. “Sweater in odd position. Not 2026 already getting my ass.”
Brunson celebrated the holiday season without her ex-husband Kevin Anik, as the former couple settled their divorce after three years of marriage, Face2Face Africa reported in September 2025.
In March 2025, Face2Face Africa also reported that Brunson had filed for divorce from her ex-husband. Brunson, per TMZ, filed the legal documents to end her marriage to Anik in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. She stated that it was because of irreconcilable differences.

Brunson, in a previous interview with Bustle, stated that she wasn’t ready to announce their separation at the time it was made public.
“Even if you don’t give a lot, people want whatever they can get, and will take whatever they can get,” she said. “I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce.’ I didn’t announce anything. I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you.”
“No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house, when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life — it’s just that that’s public record information,” she added. “I hate all of it.”
Brunson, in her interview, stated that despite the online talk about her personal life, she had gotten to a point where she had shut her ears to that.
“Those are invisible voices that aren’t in your home with you, that aren’t in your personal life, that aren’t your friends,” she said. “I love my fans, I love the people who watch Abbott. So you want to hear them, and you want to listen to them, but when it comes to matters of your personal life and decisions you make, you do have to tune it out.”
