Beauty Trend to Try: Bright Liner!

I’m grateful for the sunshine, and glad to be rid of the monochromatic colors that tend to reign during the winter. With all this brightness, I noticed a trend this spring that I am very happy about — bright liner! Think Orange, pink, green, yellow and purple! Candy-colored shades are replacing the usual black eyeliner this season.

Many designers have incorporated this trend into their looks, including Peter Som to Derek Lam. The idea here is to create a colorful palette, something bright and fun to represent spring. It might seem daunting to wear really bright colors, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Bring out your liners and live a little!

To get the best results, use a liner in any electric hue of your choice, and draw a thick stripe that reaches your crease and extends towards your temple; similar to what makeup artist, Pat McGrath did at the Loewe Show. If you’re not that bold, just draw a thin line on your upper lalash-line and add a few coats of mascara.

Try this trend a few times, and you won’t be so conscious, feeling like everyone’s staring at you.

You can try Cover Girl LiquilineBlast in Blue Bloom or Green Glow. Match the brightness with toned down lips—neutral or nude shades will work fabulously!
