National Museum of Ethiopia. Panoramio

The National Museum of Ethiopia is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, near Addis Ababa University’s graduate school. It houses Ethiopia’s artistic treasures and archaeological findings, including the remains of the early hominids.

The museum was established in 1958, succeeding what was then referred to as the Institute of Archaeology. The institute was established to facilitate archaeological works in northern Ethiopia. Here you will find lots of traditional tools and regalia from the country’s former rulers, such as Emperor Haile Selassie.
