Ladies! Here’s How To Win a Valentine’s Date with Idris Elba

by Mark Babatunde, 1:00pm February 09, 2017,

Listen up, ladies: U.K.-born Hollywood star Idris Elba can be all yours this Valentine’s Day!

The 44-year-old star of the hit series “Luther” is offering himself as the grand prize in a raffle draw organised by the charity W.E. Can Lead, which raises funds for school girls in Liberia and other parts of Africa to become the next generation of dynamic female leaders.

Fans of the “Beasts of No Nation” star can log on to the Omaze.com website, the organizers of the charity, to make their donations: A £10 donation equals 100 entries, and a £25 donation equals 250 entries. The website encourages multiple entries as it increases the chances of winning.

In the end, the lucky winner will enjoy an exclusive candle lit dinner date with Elba at one of his favorite restaurants. The winner will also enjoy free flight travel and lodging in a luxury 4-star hotel.

In his promotional video (featured at the top of this article) for the raffle, Elba — looking irresistible in a suit and carrying a box of chocolates — makes his pitch, promising that all monies donated will go toward funding the education of girls throughout Africa. He then promises a memorable night that includes ordering and eating authentic African dishes and getting cozy together with a bottle of champagne.

“And once we’re feeling comfortable we can order whatever your heart desires. Maybe some truffles, perhaps some steak…pepper soup and fufu – that’s an African dish, and you pound the yams. And you know what? I’ll let you pound my yams,” Elba says.

Who will be the lucky winner?
