Have you ever seen pictures of the giant African snail? Those slow moving creatures, considered creepy by some, are a beloved and even expensive delicacy in Nigeria. The snails are prepared by cracking their shell open or boiling them until the heat forces them out of their shells.
Snails can be eaten in many ways, but many prefer them deep fried or grilled on skewer sticks, alongside a sauce made from pepper, tomatoes, and other spices. Their creepy nature aside, snails are a rich source of healthy white meat that is very low in cholesterol.
