Maasai in Tanzania

The people of the Maasai tribe are most prevalent in Kenya and Tanzania.  Last year, thousands of Maasai in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania had their houses burned down.

The purpose? To allow room for more tourism. The Maasai, a semi-nomadic people are being driven out of their residences and being forced to inhabit small areas.

One local remarked, “I know the next victim of tourism will be me. Moved, displaced, and evicted.”
