by Sandra Appiah, 2:00pm March 26, 2016,

The Ghana Mission, New York hosted an Investment Forum on March 8 2016 in commemoration of Ghana’s 59th Independence anniversary, under the theme: “Ghana’s Transformational Agenda- an Opportunity for Business and Investment.” Organized by Face2face Africa, the forum brought Ghana and US business communities together for discussions on business and investment opportunities in arguably one of the most lucrative emerging global economies, Ghana.

The forum was specifically designed to present access to information and resources to U.S. businesses and investors with an interest in Ghana, while exploring opportunities for growth, sustainability, and economic development.

Speakers/panelist included prominent executives and leaders from both the private and public sector, notably Ghana’s Minister of Private Sector Development: Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, the CEO of Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC): Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh, and the Permanent Representative of Ghana to the United Nations: H.E. Mrs. Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee. The rest included the Vice President, Global Public Policy and Government Affairs Kosmos Energy: Jeffrey Krilla and the President International Trade and Government relations, Sandler, Travis and Rosenberg, P.A.:Nicole Bivens Collinson as well as Mr. Ben Dotsie Malor, Chief of UN Radio who served as the moderator for the event.

The theme for this forum is significant because it echoes the vision outlined by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama in his State of Nation Address to Parliament on February 25, 2016. We are presented with a unique opportunity to develop organic and viable business partnerships that are not only lucrative and profitable, but also sustainable and contribute to meeting our development targets in key sectors of our economy. The vast business potential that New York offers as an international and financial hub makes it a perfect location for what we hope to be a groundbreaking event.- H.E. Mrs Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee
