Teh Teh Ferry

Travelling from Shenge village to Tombo in 2009, this Sierra Leonean ferry capsized during a storm, killing at least 90 people with 100 others missing.  Although authorities said that about 300 people were on board,  it is still not known how many people were on the ferry at the time of the accident even though records show that only 200 people had a ticket.

Some of the survivors claimed that the cargo trapped many people and that rescue took too long.
