Lil Wayne has made a big announcement about his highly anticipated ‘Tha Carter VI’ album, seemingly confirming its release date. On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the rap icon dropped a subtle but clear hint about when fans can expect his next project.

Wayne took the opportunity to reveal the special date after starring in a new commercial for Cetaphil. The ad features the rapper swooping in to rescue people from awkward situations—such as a father meeting his daughter’s boyfriend and discovering a condom in his wallet, or a cringe-worthy kiss cam moment at a sporting event.

Throughout the commercial, eagle-eyed fans noticed multiple Easter eggs pointing to a 6/6 release date, subtly placed on jerseys, scoreboards, and other visuals. At one point in the ad, while in the studio, Wayne is asked if he’s still attending the big game. He cryptically responds, “Nah, this is time-sensitive.”

The biggest reveal, however, comes from a notice on the studio door that reads: “Do Not Disturb ‘Til 06-06-25 Carter VI.”

The closing scene of the ad quickly went viral, with fans interpreting June 6, 2025, as the official release date for Tha Carter VI—the first installment in the series since Tha Carter V dropped in 2018.

Wayne explained his involvement in the campaign, stating: “What attracted me to this project was the chance to flip the script. Showing a sensitive side isn’t a weakness—it’s a power. There’s nothing more real than turning those types of moments into a display of strength.”

Before this latest reveal, the Young Money Entertainment boss had already sparked intrigue with a cryptic message about a special project, leaving fans in suspense. He also confirmed that he wouldn’t be attending the Super Bowl, adding fuel to the speculation.

In a video shared on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Wayne teased his absence from the big event while hyping up an upcoming surprise:

“Y’all know I’m not going to be there this week, which means I guess there’s a seat to fill. Shout out to New Orleans, but I’ve been working on something very special. I got something exciting coming for you Thursday, the 6th. Until then… I’m chillin’.”

Wayne first hinted at a 2025 release for ‘Tha Carter VI’ during an interview with AT&T at the College Football Playoff National Championship in Atlanta on January 20. He, however, did not reveal the actual release at the time.

When host Mel Mitchell asked if ‘Tha Carter VI’ was dropping in 2025, Wayne confidently replied: “Guaranteed.”

With ‘Tha Carter VI’ now seemingly set for June 6, anticipation among fans is at an all-time high.
