Popular African presidents who were once teachers

Many of the world’s top industry players, celebrities and politicians struggled their way through life before getting to the top. It’s almost like a biblical story told over and over but that never gets old.

Day in and out, many top personalities in Africa tell of how they went through sleepless nights and empty stomachs for days to get to the top. It’s very common to see many entrepreneurs on TV or at conferences reminding the youth to stay focused and go through the struggle.

But in the midst of all this, it is very uncommon to hear presidents or political leaders in general talk about their past life. Once they get into office, it is almost as if they spent all their life waiting for their turn in office and have never been anything else.

The former lives of presidents have always been of great interest to many giving reason to why their books, scandals and secrets always make a lot of money for the media when released.

In the spirit of fishing out information about presidents, here are 5 African presidents who spent some time of their lives teaching before they entered into politics and became leaders of their countries.
