R&B singer and songwriter Ray J has claimed that multiple celebrities concerned about their associations with Sean “Diddy” Combs are willing to pay accusers to keep quiet. He discussed the alleged “catch and kill” scheme in the new TMZ documentary, ‘TMZ Presents The Downfall of Diddy: Inside the Freak-Offs’.
“I’m hearing about artists paying victims to keep their names out of it,” Ray J, a friend of Diddy’s, stated. “People do catch-and-kills all the time … for regular people, someone has a truth, someone pays you to keep it quiet, and hopefully that money secures your happiness while you watch the lie continue to succeed,” the 43-year-old singer alleged.
When asked if he knew of instances where women were approaching celebrities with ultimatums, Ray J suggested it was actually the celebrities who were preemptively reaching out to alleged victims to silence them. “Here’s the other way around that… ‘I’ll give you money, please don’t talk,’” he claimed about the alleged actions of unnamed stars.
According to Ray J, some high-profile individuals have confided in him due to his friendship with Diddy, fearing their names could be exposed. “That’s exactly what I’m saying,” Ray J affirmed when asked if others may see him as a potential “vessel” for leaks. “And I don’t even know why I just said it, but I said it, so what. Now they’re gonna be mad.”

He declined to name any of the people or provide further details, saying, “I’ve said too much.”
This revelation comes after Diddy was charged with federal sex trafficking in September, with the indictment detailing allegations that he manipulated victims and used drugs to coerce them into participating in “Freak-Offs” – violent sex sessions sometimes recorded without consent. Witnesses have alleged seeing other celebrities at these gatherings.
Following his arrest, several civil lawsuits have also been filed against the Bad Boy Records founder, citing abuse claims spanning decades. Combs’ lawyers have repeatedly dismissed these actions as “clear attempts to garner publicity.”
Diddy, who is awaiting trial next May, is being held without bail in federal custody in Brooklyn.
