Two women sustained injuries at a Wingstop in Tennessee after an employee with the restaurant threw hot cooking oil on them during an altercation.

Per Law&Crime, the July 22 incident occurred at a Wingstop on Winchester Road in Memphis. The two customers went to the restaurant to pick up an order, but while there, they got into an argument with an employee identified as Johnisa Herring, 25.

The affidavit stated that during the course of the argument, Herring “went to the kitchen, grabbed a bowl and filled it with hot cooking oil.” Herring then “threw the bowl of hot oil” on the two women when she returned.

Police said that the hot oil landed on the face and upper torso of one of the customers, and she received medical care at a hospital “where she now suffers from 2nd degree burns to 18.5% of her body.” Authorities also said that the hot oil burned the second woman on her right shoulder.

FOX13 reported that the women were 61 cents short of the total amount they were to pay for the order, and that was the genesis of the argument between them and Herring. The affidavit also stated that the woman who sustained the major injuries ultimately confirmed Herring as the perpetrator, per Law&Crime.

Herring was ultimately arrested and charged with aggravated assault, and her next court date is scheduled for August 25.

“Lack of care. They give you your food and walk away and can’t talk to them about if you get this right or that right,” a customer told FOX13 outside the store. “People go back in there to them they got their order wrong and the employees just look at you like it’s not their fault.”

“I like my things perfect. The burgers aren’t right,” another customer said. “They serve you half of what you need. There is no care in the fast food business anymore. They just don’t care.”
